From One-Man Team to Trusted Plumbing Experts

Established in San Jose in 1983, $15 Sewer & Drain Service began with Mark McGinnis’s simple vision of providing a one-man team at a fair price of $15 per drain per hour. His relentless commitment to exceptional service transformed the business into the largest locally owned plumbing company in the Bay Area, a legacy that faced a profound turning point in January 2020 when Mark unexpectedly passed away at the age of 60. Confronted with uncertainty but moved by the dedication of her heartbroken staff, his wife, Valerie McGinnis, chose to persevere; today, the company remains proudly family-owned and operated as Valerie is joined by her three children—Savannah, Steven, and Charles—to carry forward their father’s enduring mission of service.

Continuing the Legacy

In January 2020, Mark passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60, leaving his wife, Valerie McGinnis, and five children behind. Faced with uncertainty, Valerie decided to keep the company running after seeing the heartbroken faces of the employees.
